Random Facts About me!!

• I was supposed to work at 2am this morning, but when I got to work I didn't see my name on the sched. Then I looked a little further and saw that they have invited me to training for Cathay Pacific and that that was at 14:00 and they conveniently forgot to tell me! I was both happy and bummed. Happy, because this oppertunity doesn't tend to appear for people working at menzies up to 5 months after they joined! I've bearly been working independent for a week! However, I was bummed because I had to get back to Voorschoten somehow and the last train was at midnight! Oh, AND I get a new uniform (happy)!
• I MIGHT be slightly colour blind because there are certain colours which I simply can't distinguish (orange is a colour which I can see as brown, red or yellow instead. Only the Dutch orange I can see as proper orange!) Mum says that it might also explain why I sometimes have trouble matching certain colours when it comes to clothing.
• Boy bought me a ring last year which I tend to forget to put on because it is slightly too big for me and I still have that McDonalds habit of not wearring rings when I'm working. I've nearly lost it countless times and am interrigated every time I'm seen not wearing it (because he never takes his off!)... Which reminds me, I'd better go put it on! Hell knows what would happen if I get an engament ring!
• I dream quite vivdly and they are often very realistic, but when it comes to nightmares I tend to know that I'm sleeping and that I'll wake up before anything bad happens! Either that, or I manipulate my dream (as I know that I am sleeping) and just walk away from the horrible thing that is happening. (Like once I dreamt that Chuckie crept into the house. Solution: Leave the house, duh!)
• I hate gardening, not because I dislike nurturing flowers or getting my hands dirty, but because I don't know what's hiding under the ground and the thought of worms squirming between my fingers.... *shudders*
• Because I work so many odd hours in the week, I tend to not have time to spend money, meaning that I'm making even more money!
• I love buying presents for other people!

Why this Picture: She's a self-proclaimed queen of the PLs! And rightly so! A lady with poise, beauty, dignity and of great wisedom. She deserves a golden picture of a queen.

Why I'm writing this for her: A wise lady once asked me if she was a good teacher. I couldn't believe that she'd even think that she wasn't! I remember hours at the piano, days outside painting and years of knowledge and love that came her way. So, in response to a question that I might not have answered when it was asked:

Yes, Ouma. You were one of the best there were.

Big Sister...

Why This Picture: Because Ingre has always been like the big sister that I never had.

Why is she so special: As a little girl, there are people in your life who make big impacts on you. These tend to be your parents, your Aunts and Uncles, childhood friendships, Barbie and close friends of the family. I had all of these plus one particular girl who was four years older (*gasp*) than me. Someone who always treated my like an equal, ignoring that age gap when we were kids (and four years is a BIG gap between four and eight, for example). I can't recall us ever being angry at one another, I just see a beacon of light every time I try to look back to the days when you braided my hair whenever you had the chance! This girl started as a dear friend to me, then as a cousin and eventually she became my sister.

Reason For this Picture: Always the one for old Vogue, French Ooh-la-la and anything that can link these things together, I picked this one cause it reminds me of the style that she loves so much.

Reason why I wrote this: She's my godmother. A source of comfort in times of need and a source of happiness at any given point. She's more than simply an aunt. She's another mother to me and loves me as much as a child of her own. A very special lady indeed.

OK, why is Blogger Dutch???

I've been Blogging since last year. Blogger has only JUST figured out that I don't live in an English speaking country and now all the buttons are in Dutch! It's not exactly rocket science to figure out what everything means... but I still sometimes find myself looking for the 'Edit' and 'New Post' buttons. *Sighs* Ah well, I'll just stop whinging, shall I?

Today's topic is a particular artist who needs a good shout out. She's been rather popular in the blogging world lately and that she has been there to support many people online. I'm rather grateful that, not only have I known this woman in real life since my birth, but that this woman is also my aunt and godmother. Here are some of the great works of Gypsy Purple:

...the real reason why I suddenly turned up with all these Disney Princesses pictures is I was looking up the word 'Mermaid' in Deviant Art today (and, well, Ariel is pretty prominent then!)

I was looking up mermaid because there is one girl amoungst us ladie who reminds me the most of one. My baby sister.

Reason why I picked this picture for her: Nye always kinda reminds me of a mermaid. When she speaks or sings people would stop to listen. She knows what she wants and when she has her heart set on something she'll go to great lengths to get it through hard work (and the mermaid in this pic is covered in pearls so I think she kinda has the same mind set... although I'm NOT too sure about the hard work part).

Ok, ok. Nye reminds me of a mermaid because the mermaid in that Barbie movie looks JUST like her! (give or take some blue hair, sparkles, a fin and a tattoo).
Why I made this section for her: As my little sister, she is the one who stands by my side in good times and in bad. Our manorisms are completely different but it's best we see eachother as a kind of balance. One Yin, one Yang. She is the water element. She cleanses and when faced with obstacles she will simply make another route around it. I am the earth element (aka DIRT!). I clog up every bit she cleans and am often that so-called obstacle! But if we combine our strengths to create mud (where the heck am I going with this?) we can build up towards the heavans...
